Psychotherapy Services in New Jersey
Resilience, reflection, and redesign are the keys to making lasting change. If you’re thinking about starting therapy, it’s completely natural to feel some apprehension. You may have been trying to manage your challenges on your own for some time, but they continue to weigh on your mind, and your thoughts keep spiraling without resolution. Sometimes, it takes the guidance of a professional, along with dedicated time and space, to help untangle these issues. Therapy can be a transformative journey that not only improves your relationships and helps you identify and communicate your needs, but also enables you to manage anxiety more effectively. It deepens your understanding of your emotions, allowing you to live a more purposeful life. Therapy is an investment in yourself—an opportunity not just to alleviate symptoms, but to embark on a path of self-discovery and clarity, leading to meaningful change.
Welcome! I’m Marie, a New Jersey Licensed Professional Counselor and National Board Certified Counselor with over 16 years of experience helping adolescents, teens, adults, and couples navigate anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions.
I believe healing begins with curiosity, self-awareness, and the courage to explore what lies beneath the surface. Finding a therapist who is compassionate, attentive, and supportive is an important first step, and I strive to create a safe, welcoming space where you feel heard and understood.
My approach is integrative and personalized, drawing from evidence-based therapies including Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). For couples, I incorporate principles from Internal Family Systems (IFS) and the Gottman Method to strengthen communication and connection.
Therapy is a collaborative process. Together, we’ll identify patterns that may be holding you back, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools for lasting growth. While our work is meaningful, there is always room for hope, humor, and genuine connection along the way.
I look forward to hearing from you and answering any questions you might have!

Therapy in a home-like environment.
If you’re able to attend in-person sessions, you’ll be welcomed into a warm and comfortable space designed to feel more like a home than a clinical office. My goal is to create an environment where you can feel relaxed, safe, and at ease from the moment you walk through the door.
If we meet virtually, I conduct telehealth sessions from the same office, so you’ll see this calming space in the background during our sessions.

If you’re asking yourself this question, you’ve already taken the first step. You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, navigating a life transition, or simply wanting to understand yourself better, therapy offers a space to heal, grow, and reconnect with yourself. If you’re unsure where to begin, let’s start with a free 15-minute consultation.
That’s completely okay – and more common than you think. You don’t need to know what to say or have everything figured out. Your first session is simply a conversation. We’ll go at your pace, and together we’ll create a space where you feel comfortable, supported and understood.
The first session is a calm starting point. We will talk through what brought you to see me and what support would feel useful. Typically the first session is about 60 minutes and I will prompt you with some questions, you don’t have to answer or speak about anything you don’t feel comfortable with.
Yes, confidentiality is a key component to the counseling relationship, allowing you a safe place to work through personal issues. Your right to confidentiality will be carefully maintained and not be disclosed without your written permission, except in cases of possible harm to yourself or others (especially children or the elderly) or a court subpoena.
If you need to cancel your appointment, please do so at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled session time. You will be responsible for the cancellation fee and charged for the time reserved when cancellations are received less than 24 hours in advance. I understand emergencies happen and am flexible the first time an issue arises.
There are several ways to schedule an appointment, so you can choose the option that is easiest for you.
